Description

Due to a high request from our customers, and better nutritional content, CricketsandWorms.com started selling the Banded Cricket (Gryllodes sigillatus). Banded crickets are hearty, healthy and live well in high temperature and humidity.

The Banded Crickets are:

  • About an inch long -at maturity ( 6 weeks old) – perfect for larger reptiles and amphibians
  • Easily digestible because of the soft exoskeleton and smaller wings
  • Desired aroma – preferred among herps (less messy and less smelly)
  • Nutritional content – More Protein than the common house cricket
  • The complete life cycle of Banded Crickets is approximately 6 to 8 weeks. Your decision of the correct cricket size to buy depends upon how you plan to use them. For fishing, buy adult crickets. If you plan to feed live crickets to your pets, care must be given to not feeding crickets that are too large for them. A common rule-of-thumb for smaller lizards is to feed crickets no more than 1/3 the width of their head. For finches and other small birds, buy pinhead crickets or 1/8 to 1/4 inch crickets.
